8 days are more than enough to get to know the wonders of Ceylon. This tour is recommended for those who travel to Sri Lanka and do not want to miss the archaeological splendors of the country, the beautiful city of Kandy, the tea mountains of Nuwara Eliya and Ella, as well as the colonial city of Galle and the capital Colombo.

1st day. Bandaranaike International Airport - Kurunegala - Anuradhapura

(Approximate transfer time: 2 and a half hours)

Reception at the airport by our representative and transfer of about 2 hours and 30 minutes to the accommodation in Anuradhapura

On the way we will stop at Lake Kurunegala to stretch ourselves with a walk and eat a snack

2nd day. Anuradhapura archeologic area - Sigiriya

The city, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has been the center of Theravada Buddhism for many centuries and is part of the so called "cultural triangle".

3rd day. Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya Rock - Sigiriya

(1 hour approximate between the different transfers)

Founded in the 10th century AD, Polonnaruwa was the second capital of Sri Lanka and remained active until the beginning of the 13th century.

In the morning we will go up to Sigiriya fortress

This huge magma rock hides the ruins of noble buildings and a breathtaking view on the top

We will pass through the Lions Gate and admire the state of conservation of the frescoes on the walls of the cave

4th day. Sigiriya - Dambulla Golden Temple - Spice Garden - Matale Hindu Temple - city of Kandy

(Dambulla - Kandy: 2.5 hours)

In the morning we will visit the Golden Temple of Dambulla

This complex of caves converted into a temple where inside we will encounter a rich decoration of statues and frescoes on the life of Buddha, of ancient Sinhalese kings and of Hindu Sinhalese deities still revered today with flowers, incense and oil lamps ...

On the way to Kandy we will visit a Spice Garden

On this visit we will learn about the plants and trees with which the different spices are produced and we will discover their use in cooking and in the ancient natural medicine of Ayurveda

Then we will make a short visit to the Sri Muthumariamman Hindu Temple in Matale (1852), built for workers in tea plantations, who came from southern India

Transfer to Kandy, the capital of the mountains

World heritage recognized by UNESCO, Kandy is one of the most sacred places in the Buddhist world

Kandy, the last capital of the Sinhalese kings, has a lot of British influence

We will see colonial-style buildings and take advantage of a walk around the lake surrounding the Temple of the Buddha Tooth, where one of the most important relics of Buddhism is preserved: the left canine of Buddha

5th day. Kandy - Nuwara Eliya - Train from Nanu Oya to Ella - Ella

(Kandy - Nuwara Eliya: about 2 hours, train to Ella about 3 hours)

On the way to Nuwara Eliya we will visit the Ramboda waterfalls and a tea factory

Reached the station of Nanu Oya, a few minutes from Nuwara Eliya (8 km), we will board the train carriage in Ella.

6th day. Ella - Buduruwagala Temple - Yala

(transfer by car of about 1 hour)

Welcome to Sri Lanka's favorite hill country village!

She is a blissfully relaxing place nestled in the valley at around 3500 feet high; it is surrounded by mountains covered with lush farmland and tea plantations.

Buduruwagala is an ancient Buddhist temple carved into the rock of the tenth century, where we will find 7 statues of Buddha and his aspirants carved in bas-relief in the rock.

7th day. Yala - Safari in the National Park - Unawatuna

(Yala - Unawatuna: transfer of about 2 hours)

We will participate in the Safari in the National Park mounted on a 4x4.

This huge expanse of land is divided into five blocks, which protect the habitat that goes from the bush to the lake areas near the sea.

8th day. Unawatuna - Colombo - Bandaranaike International Airport

(Unawatuna - Colombo: about 1.5 hours)

Transfer to Colombo for a retrospective visit to the capital, Independence Square, Galle Face promenade and to the colonial area of the Fortress of Colombo.

Transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport at the appointed time, where we will arrive 3 hours before the departure of the flight
