At 7 a.m., you can choose between two exciting dive sites. First, Madhafaru, the newest boat wreck in Colombo, is the Maldivian Medhufaru, resting at depths of 19 to 29 meters. It’s got backhoes on deck and offers an amazing dive with batfish, lionfish, and schools of fish swimming all around. Alternatively, there’s the Thermopylae Sierra, a Cyprus-owned wreck that’s been underwater since August 2012, sitting at depths from 0 to 23 meters. After the dives, you’ll head to the Ahangama hotel to prepare for diving the next day along the southwest coast.
Accommodation: CANTALOUPE HOUSE hotel in Ahangama.
At 7 a.m., you have two fantastic dive options. The Earl of Shaftesbury, which sank in 1893 off the Hikkaduwa coast, lies at 15 meters depth and offers a fun, easy dive with schools of fish, vibrant hard and soft corals, and the chance to see large manta rays, groupers, snappers, lionfish, and porcupines. Alternatively, you can dive at Diyamba Kupotha, also known as "Napoleon Reef," at 20 meters depth, where there’s a good chance to spot impressive large Maori wrasses and potato cod. If you’re staying near Hikkaduwa, places like the Hikka Ocean Resort or White Sand Villa could be great spots to rest after your dives!

Enjoy a relaxing boat trip on Koggala Lake, with birds singing in the background. Visit an island that features a Buddhist temple and a cinnamon farm. Then, explore Galle Fort, a walled fort by the sea and the best-preserved colonial historical center in the country. It is the most beautiful city in Sri Lanka, perfect for strolling under the shade of trees or along the seaside. There are many cafes, restaurants, and shops to enjoy as well.
