This 5-day Ramayana trail explores some of Sri Lanka’s most important pilgrimage locations connected to the Ramayana story. Visit sacred temples including Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple, Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Munneswaram Temple, Manavari Temple, Hakgala Botanical Garden, Seetha Amman Temple, and Kataragama Temple.
The journey combines spiritual discovery with scenic travel through Sri Lanka’s west coast, hill country, and southern sacred regions.

Daily Itinerary
Day 01. Arrival → Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple → Colombo
Description & Accomadation
Approximate Transfer Time: 3 hours
Visit the Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple, dedicated to Lord Hanuman and known for its rare five-faced Hanuman deity representation.
Day 02. Colombo → Kelaniya → Munneswaram Temple → Manavari Temple → Chilaw

Approximate Transfer Time: 10 mins
Visit Kelaniya Temple, believed to be associated with the coronation of King Vibhishana after Ravana’s defeat. Continue to Munneswaram Temple where Lord Rama is believed to have prayed to Lord Shiva, followed by Manavari Temple where the first Shiva Lingam (Ramalinga) was installed.
Day 03. Chilaw → Hakgala Botanical Garden → Nuwara Eliya

Approximate Transfer Time: 15 hours
Visit Hakgala Botanical Garden, traditionally identified as Ashok Vatika where Hanuman is believed to have met Sita. Continue with sightseeing in the scenic hill station of Nuwara Eliya.
Day 04. Nuwara Eliya → Sita Amman Temple → Kataragama Temple → Kataragama

Visit Seetha Amman Temple, believed to be the location where Sita was held captive by Ravana. Continue to Kataragama Temple, one of Sri Lanka’s most sacred multi-religious pilgrimage sites associated with Lord Murugan and connected to Ramayana traditions.

Day 05. Kataragama → Airport
