How to organize your trip with a local agency?

Plan or organize your trip.

Do you want to plan your holiday and don’t know where to start? Do you want to come to Sri Lanka but you’re not sure which agency to book with? Below we list the steps you can take to better organize your next holiday.

1. It is best to do basic research online.

This way we can find the most suitable travel agency to organize our trip. It is very important to consider at this point the way of exchanging information, according to each person's preferences: by email, WhatsApp, telephone and/or in person.

2. Check the credibility of the agencies.

We can check the credibility of the travel agencies consulted by looking at their websites, the opinions of people who have traveled with the agency, the travel forums that talk about the agency, the articles on the website, and customer reviews on Google.

3. Once the agency is chosen.

The next step is to plan the route or itinerary itself. At this point, it is especially important to use a local agency, which has the most comprehensive and accurate information about the destination.

4. Check through the website of the hotels offered that they are to our liking.

If you are not satisfied with one or more of the accommodations offered, you can request a change in the hotel or hotels that are not to your liking.

Personalizing a trip means that the local agency adapts to the traveler's tastes. So don't hesitate to ask for all the changes that are necessary to get the trip of your dreams.

5. Once we have decided on our route with hotels or accommodations, check the price of the trip, payment conditions and trip cancellation policy.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that both the price and the conditions of the trip and cancellation policy are concise, specific and easy to understand.

At this point it must also be very clear what is included and what is not included in the price of the trip. So if you have any questions, this is the time to ask and clarify any aspect, no matter how small.

6. Booking the trip

The next step is booking the trip itself. In the case of SRI LANKA EDEN TRAVELS, the reservation is made once a deposit of 10% of the trip cost has been made. Once the trip is booked, our travel agency will take care of booking the hotels and services chosen.

These services basically include a vehicle adapted to the group or couple, a Spanish or English-speaking driver and, if applicable, a guide also in Spanish.

90% of the trip cost is paid upon arrival in Sri Lanka.

7. The next step is booking the trip.

Properly speaking. In the case of SRI LANKA EDEN TRAVELS, the reservation is made once a deposit of 10% of the trip amount has been made.

Once the trip reservation has been formalised, our travel agency will take care of booking the hotels and services chosen. These services basically include a vehicle adapted to the group or couple, a Spanish or English driver and, if applicable, a guide also in Spanish.

90% of the trip amount is paid upon arrival in Sri Lanka.

8. Obtain a tourist visa through the official website.

It is advisable to avoid unofficial websites where they can charge up to 200% of the actual amount.

In case of doubt and/or problem with the visa, our Travel Agency Edén, being in Sri Lanka, will make the relevant arrangements by calling the Immigration Department in Colombo.

The official website is the following: http://www.eta.gov.lk/slvisa/visainfo/center.jsp.

9. Consultation of doubts and resolution of problems.

During the time between booking and actually taking the trip, you will have many questions that we will resolve at our Viajes Edén Agency.

If there is one thing that is important to us, it is always to provide a quick and effective response to all the questions our clients ask.

Likewise, if any problem arises during this process or during the trip, we are always available in Kandy, Sri Lanka, to resolve them, as always, as quickly as possible.

10. Enjoy the holidays.

Well, finally, the day has come and it's time to enjoy the long-awaited vacation: This exciting part consists of getting to know this exotic and beautiful country that is Sri Lanka.

On the day and time of your arrival in Sri Lanka, your driver or guide will be waiting for you at the airport with a sign with your name on it.

On the same day, we will also contact you by phone, so that you know that from Sri Lanka, we will be in permanent contact throughout the tour.

Advantages of traveling with a local agency.

Indeed, choosing to travel with a local agency has many advantages. Here are some of them…

  • The ability to design your trip and visits at your convenience.
  • Traveling alone, with total freedom. Especially in terms of transportation, where you have a vehicle exclusively for yourself, or with your partner, friends or family. It is a private trip, without sharing the vehicle and the route with other travelers who have different preferences or tastes than yours.
  • Choose the hotels from those selected by the agency and decide their category.
  • Personalized customer service, prior to booking the trip and during the tour.
  • A local guide in the chosen language so you can enjoy and learn more about the country.
  • Get better prices by not having intermediaries, but with direct contact with the local agent.
  • Make your trip more efficient. When you deal with a local agency that has a good knowledge of the terrain, you can get to see or visit the maximum amount of things.

What happens with payments?

Once the traveller has accepted the budget for travelling to Sri Lanka, a deposit must be made to make the trip reservation effective.

In the case of VIAJES EDÉN, this amount to be paid is 10% of the trip amount to be paid into a current account in Spain. Therefore, those people who live in Spain will not have to pay bank commissions for the trip reservation.

Once this deposit has been made, we begin the process of booking the chosen hotels and Spanish or English driver or guide, according to choice. It is a rule for us to keep our clients informed of the reservation process at all times.

Upon arrival in Sri Lanka, the rest of the trip amount is paid in cash, that is, 90% of the amount.

In the event that you want to make this payment by international bank transfer to our bank in Sri Lanka, there is a commission of 3% of the amount. The same occurs if you want to pay by VISA credit card.

As our main market is Spanish tourism, the payment currency is generally EUROS.

However, for those travellers from Latin America we convert the value to AMERICAN DOLLARS for your convenience.

Cancellations made within 14 days prior to the trip do not have a refund of the deposit.
