Sri Lanka in 10 days – Esala Perahera
Day 1 Airport - Kurunegala - Sigiriya town
(Airport - Kurunegala - Sigiriya: approximate duration: 3.5 hrs)
Recibimiento en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Bandaranaike por el que será vuestro chófer-guía y traslado al hotel en lo localidad de Sigiriya.
Parada en Kurunegala para andar por el lago y tomar algún refrigerio. Nuestra primera toma de contacto con el país será viendo cómo grupos de familias y amigos pasean alrededor del lago, hacen deporte o toman algo en los diferentes restaurantes del lugar.
Day 2 Sigiriya - Anuradhapura ancient city - Mihintale - Sigiriya
(Sigiriya - Anura: 1.5 hour, Anura - Mihintale: 30 min; Mihintale - Sigiriya: 1.15 hours)
Fundada en el siglo IV aC, fue la primera capital de Sri Lanka y permaneció activa hasta el siglo X d.C. Anuradhapura es uno de los mayores yacimientos arqueológicos del mundo y está considerado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO.
Según las antiguas crónicas el Budismo entró en Sri Lanka a través de Mihintale en el año 237 antes de Cristo. Las vistas desde esta montaña son absolutamente preciosas.
Day 3 Sigiriya - Sigiriya Rock - Optional: Ayurvedic massages - free Sigiriya

La famosa Roca de Sigiriya (siglo V d.C) es considerada una de las 8 maravillas del mundo antiguo y no es para menos. No os podéis perder las ruinas del palacio en la cúspide y las fascinantes vistas de 360 grados a la redonda!
Si se desea hoy, después de esta visita, se podría disfrutar de una actividad tan relajante como una sesión de masajes ayurveda. El ayurveda se remonta más de 2.000 años atrás y consiste en aplicar sobre todo el cuerpo aceites extraídos de plantas medicinales.
Day 4 Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa - Safari NP Minneriya - Sigiriya
(Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa: 1 hour; Polonnaruwa - Minneriya: 40 min, Minneriya - hotel: 30 min)
Entre las ruinas de Polonnaruwa (siglo X- XIII dC) encontraremos esculturas gigantes de Budas y Reyes de hasta 15 metros de altura, antiguos estanques y los restos de lo que fue el palacio real. Todo esto amenizado por simpáticos macacos jugando en la jungla que siempre envuelven los viejos templos en Sri Lanka.
Por la tarde haremos un safari en el Parque Nacional de Minneriya, famoso por las grandes manadas de elefantes que habitan en él. Todo el mundo queda impresionado al contemplar tantísimos elefantes juntos.
Day 5 Sigiriya - Dambulla Golden Temple - Matale: Spice Garden - Kandy city
(Sigiriya - Kandy: 2.5 hours)
The history of Dambulla dates back to the 1st year BC and it reached its peak in the 12th century. Today this temple is still very active and we will once again have the opportunity to see Sri Lankan Buddhists giving offerings such as flowers, incense, oil lamps…
Afterwards we will learn all the secrets of a Spice Garden. Today we will have the opportunity to see the plants and trees from which the different spices are obtained and we will learn about their uses in cooking and in Ayurvedic medicine.
Note: This visit is optional (no cost) and has an attached shop where no one is obliged to buy.
Called the capital of the mountains, it was the last capital of the Kings of Sri Lanka.
Day 6 Kandy - Peradeniya Botanical Gardens - Temple of the Tooth - Kandy Esala Perahera.
(Maximum transfer duration: 30 min)
The Temple of the Tooth houses the relic of Buddha’s tooth. This is why we always find Buddhist pilgrims with flowers and offerings. Since ancient times, this relic has played a very important role in Sri Lankan life, as it was believed that whoever possessed it held power.
The Peradeniya Botanical Garden (14th century) is considered one of the best visits to mythical Ceylon. It is a huge orchard bordering the Mahawelli River where we can admire the beauty of centuries-old trees, palm trees with strange shapes, Ayurvedic plants and the famous collection of orchids.
You can only do this activity if your trip coincides with the Esala dates in July or August. You will be able to see about 100 elephants dressed in beautiful coloured costumes and lights walking through the streets of Kandy. Every night they take out la reliquia del Diente de Buda

Day 7 Kandy - Ramboda waterfalls - Tea Factory - Nuwara Eliya - Nanu Oya train - Ella.
(Kandy - Nuwara Eliya: 2.5 hours + train)
Between Nuwara Eliya and Kandy you can see the famous Ramboda waterfalls. If you want, you can also take a dip!
If you want to know how the famous Ceylon tea is processed, be sure to visit a tea factory where they will explain to you how the delicate tea leaves are processed.
Transfer to Nuwara Eliya. On the way to the hill station of Nuwara Eliya (2,000 m) we will see extensive plantations of the famous Ceylon tea.
Take the train from Nuwara Eliya to Bandarawella. It is a 3-hour journey along a winding road between tea hills and tall forest. Ceylon’s railway network began operating in 1864 and some old trains from that period are still in working order.

Day 8 Ella - Buduruwagala Temple - Yala Safari
(She - Yala: 2 hours)
On the way to Yala we will visit Buduruwagala, an ancient Buddhist temple from the 10th century, where we will find 7 statues of Buddha and Buddha aspirants carved from the rock itself.
This reserve is home to the largest concentration of leopards in the world, as there are no predators. In addition, you can see many elephants, crocodiles, buffalos, black bears and many other animals.
Day 9 Yala - Weligama: Stilt fishermen - Galle Fort - Hikkaduwa
(Approximate duration Yala-Hikkaduwa: 2.5 hours)
On the way to Galle you can stop in Weligama to see the stilt fishermen, famous for their curious way of fishing while stuck in the water.
This walled fort bordering the sea is the best preserved colonial historical centre in the country. It is undoubtedly the most beautiful city in Sri Lanka. It is a beautiful place ideal for strolling under the shade of the trees or by the sea. In addition, there are many cafes, restaurants and shops where you can find the best of the country.
Day 10 Hikkaduwa - Colombo - Airport
(Approximate duration Hikkaduwa-Colombo: 2 hours; Colombo - Airport: 50 min)
If there is time left before the transfer to the airport, we will take a retrospective tour of the capital. We will see the most emblematic places of the city such as Independence Square, Galle Face Promenade and the colonial area of Colombo Fort.
Transfer to the airport at the agreed time. At Bandaranaike International Airport you must be 3 hours before your flight departure.

Forma de pago:
- La forma de pago en EUROS es el 10% o 20% (dependiendo de si es temporada baja o alta) mediante transferencia bancaria a una cuenta bancaria en España.
- El 90% u 80% restante, también en EUROS, se paga en efectivo a la llegada a Sri Lanka o mediante transferencia bancaria internacional a Sri Lanka.
- Si se desea pagar mediante transferencia bancaria internacional, este importe se incrementará en un 5% en concepto de gastos bancarios.
Política de cancelación:
- Hasta 30 días antes del viaje se devuelve el 100% del depósito si se cancela el viaje.
- Entre 29 días antes y 15 días antes del inicio del viaje hay una penalización del 50% del importe del depósito.
- Las cancelaciones realizadas dentro de los 14 días anteriores al viaje no tienen devolución del depósito.

- Todas las cancelaciones tienen una tasa de gestión de 90 euros por persona.
