Day 1 Airport - Kurunegala - Anuradhapura
(Approximate transfer time: 3.5 hours)
Meet and greet at Bandaranaike International Airport by our driver-guide and transfer to Anuradhapura.
Stop in Kurunegala to walk around the lake and have some refreshments. Our first contact with the country will be seeing how groups of families and friends walk around the lake, do sports or have something to eat in the different restaurants in the area.
Free afternoon for rest.
Day 2 Anuradhapura ancient city - Mihintale - Anuradhapura
(Approximate duration of Anura - Mihintale: 0.5 h)
Founded in the 4th century BC, it was the first capital of Sri Lanka and remained active until the 10th century AD. Anuradhapura is one of the largest archaeological sites in the world and is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
According to ancient chronicles, Buddhism entered Sri Lanka through Mihintale in 237 BC. The views from this mountain are absolutely beautiful.
Day 3 Anuradhapura - Dambulla Golden Temple - Sigiriya Rock - Sigiriya
(Approximate duration Anura - Dambulla: 1.5 hrs; Dambulla - Sigiriya: 0.5 hrs)
The history of Dambulla dates back to the 1st year BC and it reached its peak in the 12th century. Today this temple is still very active and we will once again have the opportunity to see Sri Lankan Buddhists giving offerings such as flowers, incense, oil lamps…
The famous Sigiriya Rock (5th century AD) is considered one of the 8 wonders of the ancient world and with good reason. Don’t miss the ruins of the palace at the top and the fascinating 360-degree views all around!
Day 4 Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa - Safari NP Minneriya - Sigiriya
(Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa: 1,15 h; Polonnaruwa - Minneriya: 1 h., Minneriya - Sigiriya: 30 min.)
Among the ruins of Polonnaruwa (10th-13th century AD) we will find giant sculptures of Buddhas and Kings up to 15 metres high, ancient ponds and the remains of what was once the royal palace. All this is enlivened by friendly macaques playing in the jungle that always surrounds the old temples in Sri Lanka.
In the afternoon we will go on a safari in the Minneriya National Park, famous for the large herds of elephants that live there. Everyone is amazed to see so many elephants together.
Day 5 Sigiriya - Matale: Spice Garden - Kandy: Temple of the Tooth and city - Esala Perahera (if dates coincide)

On the way to Kandy, we will make a short visit to the Spice Garden with an explanation of the plants and trees from which the different spices are obtained. In addition, we will learn about their uses in cooking and in Ayurvedic medicine.
Note: The Spice Garden is an optional visit (no cost) and has a shop attached to it where no one is obliged to buy anything.
Called the capital of the mountains, it was the last capital of the Kings of Sri Lanka.
Once in the city we will visit the Temple of the Tooth where the relic of Buddha’s tooth is kept. For this reason, we will find many Buddhist pilgrims with flowers and offerings. Since ancient times, this relic has played a very important role in the life of Sri Lanka, since it was believed that whoever possessed it held power.
- The rest of the day is free to walk around the city, the lake, etc.
- If you have time, it is very interesting to visit the market where they sell fruit, vegetables, fresh meat, spices, fabrics, etc. There are also seamstresses and people who repair shoes or anything that is worth repairing. In an Asian market, anything is possible.
You can only do this activity if your trip coincides with the Esala dates in July or August. You will be able to see about 100 elephants dressed in beautiful coloured costumes and lights walking through the streets of Kandy. Every night they take out la reliquia del Diente de Buda

Day 6 Kandy - Ramboda Falls - Tea factory - Nuwara Eliya - Nanu Oya train - Bandarawela.

Between Nuwara Eliya and Kandy you can see the famous Ramboda waterfalls. If you want, you can also take a dip!
If you want to know how the famous Ceylon tea is processed, be sure to visit a tea factory where they will explain to you how the delicate tea leaves are processed.
Transfer to Nuwara Eliya. On the way to the hill station of Nuwara Eliya (2,000 m) we will see extensive plantations of the famous Ceylon tea.
Take the train from Nuwara Eliya to Bandarawella. It is a 3-hour journey along a winding road between tea hills and tall forest. Ceylon’s railway network began operating in 1864 and some old trains from that period are still in working order.

Day 7 Bandarawela - Buduruwagala Temple - Yala
(Approximate duration Bandarawela - Yala: 2.5 hours)
On the way to Yala we will visit Buduruwagala, an ancient Buddhist temple from the 10th century, where we will find 7 statues of Buddha and Buddha aspirants carved from the rock itself.
This reserve is home to the largest concentration of leopards in the world, as there are no predators. In addition, you can see many elephants, crocodiles, buffalos, black bears and many other animals.
Day 8 Yala - Weligama: Stilt fishermen - Galle Fort - Hikkaduwa
(Approximate duration Yala-Hikkaduwa: 2.5 hours)
On the way to Galle you can stop in Weligama to see the stilt fishermen, famous for their curious way of fishing while stuck in the water.
This walled fort bordering the sea is the best preserved colonial historical centre in the country. It is undoubtedly the most beautiful city in Sri Lanka. It is a beautiful place ideal for strolling under the shade of the trees or by the sea. In addition, there are many cafes, restaurants and shops where you can find the best of the country.
Day 9 Hikkaduwa - Colombo - Airport
(Approximate duration Hikkaduwa-Colombo: 2 hours; Colombo - Airport: 50 min)
If there is time left before the transfer to the airport, we will take a retrospective tour of the capital. We will see the most emblematic places of the city such as Independence Square, Galle Face Promenade and the colonial area of Colombo Fort.
Transfer to the airport at the agreed time. At Bandaranaike International Airport you must be 3 hours before your flight departure.

Payment method:
- The payment method in EUROS is 10% or 20% (depending on whether it is low or high season) by bank transfer to a bank account in Spain.

- Up to 30 days before the trip, 100% of the deposit is returned if the trip is cancelled.
