If you like monuments, you must visit Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya, the Golden Temple of Dambulla and the Temple of the Tooth. Not to mention other less important ones such as Mihintale or the temples of Lankatilekka and Ambakke.
If you like nature, this is Sri Lanka’s strong point. You cannot miss the safaris in the Yala nature reserve, Minneriya National Park, Wilpattu National Park and Uda Walawe. As well as Sinharaja and the marine parks of Pigeon Island National Park and Hikkaduwa.
If you like trekking or hiking, you can walk in the Horton National Park, in Haputale, in Nuwara Eliya, the Knuckles and the tea mountains of Kandy.
Beaches in Sri Lanka
Meanwhile, for those who like exotic beaches, full of palm trees and coconut trees, we offer beaches in the west of the country such as Bentota, Ambalangoda, Chilaw and Negambo. You can also swim in the Indian Ocean in the east of the country on the beaches of Trincomalee, Pasikudah, Nilaveli… If you like surfing you can go in Arugam Bay, Weligama or Mirissa. And of course, we have the beaches of the south of Sri Lanka such as Tangalle, Unawatuna, Galle, Ahangama, etc. etc.
And if you like cities, we have Jaffna, Galle Fort and Colombo where you can walk and go shopping among the wonderful shops and restaurants.
In short, we have a country with a great variety of climates, places, cultures, religions, etc. where we will always find smiling Sri Lankans waiting for us with open arms.
Coming to Sri Lanka and not being surprised is absolutely impossible.
