day 1. Airport - Kurunegala - Anuradhapura
(Approximate transfer duration : 3 and a half hours)
Welcoming at the airport by our representative and transfer to the accommodation in Anuradhapura
It's always nice to get out of the car, observing, feeling and start absorbing the smells and colours of a new country.
For this reason, on the way to the Hotel, we will make the first stop in Kurunegala.
We will stretch out with a walk and a snack along the lake shores, just like the Sinhalese do.
day 2. Anuradhapura ancient city by bicycle - free afternoon
(short journeys of 20 min)
We will visit the enchanting ancient city with its Stupas and Temples (4th century BC - 10th century AD).
World sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site.
The city, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has been the center of Theravada Buddhism for many centuries and is part of the so-called "cultural triangle".
We will see, above all, how the Sinhalese visit and venerate this sacred enclosure, their offerings to the oldest tree in the world (the Bo tree) and many other things!
day 3. Anuradhapura - Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya
(Anura - Polonnaruwa : 2 hrs; Polonnaruwa: Sigiriya: 1 hr)
Among the ruins of Polonnaruwa (10th - 13th century AD) We will find gigantic sculptures of Buddha and Kings up to 15 meters high, old ponds and remains of what was once the royal palace.
All this enlivened by friendly macaques playing in the jungle that has always surrounded the old temples of Sri Lanka.
Founded in the 10th century AD, Polonnaruwa was the second capital of Sri Lanka and remained active until the beginning of the 13th century.
day 4. Sigiriya Rock - Minneriya National Park Safari
(Approximate transfer duration : 20/30 min)
We will claim to Sigiriya fortress
This huge magma rock hides the ruins of noble buildings and a breathtaking view on the top
We will pass through the Lions Gate and admire the state of conservation of the frescoes on the walls of the cave
In the afternoon mounted on a four wheel drive, we will participate to this amusing Safari,
famous for the large herds of elephants that inhabit it.
Sometimes you can admire up to 300 elephant specimens
day 5. Trekking in Ritigala
(Sigiriya - Ritigala: 45 min)
Trekking to Ritigala (about 4 hours). In the Ritigala reserve there are the ruins of an ancient temple from the 1st century BC.
This mountain of 766 meters above sea level is the highest in the north of Sri Lanka.
Additionally, this is a protected because sacred and healing herbs are believed to exist.
day 6. Habarana - Dambulla Golden Temple - Trekking in Matale - Spice Garden - Kandy
(Sigiriya - Kandy: 2 hours and a half; Kandy - Hanthana: 30 min)
In the morning we will visit the Golden Temple of Dambulla
This complex of caves converted into a temple where inside we will encounter a rich decoration of statues and frescoes on the life of Buddha, of ancient Sinhalese kings and of Hindu Sinhalese deities still revered today with flowers, incense and oil lamps ...
Then we will participate in a light Trekking in the Matale area through a town surrounded by rice fields and chilli gardens.
Then we will follow a path immersed in pure nature and in the cultivation of cashews, pepper, cocoa, coffee and natural rubber.
Finally we will arrive at a river with the possibility of getting wet.
Then we will have the opportunity to get to know a Spice Garden on the way to Kandy.
On this visit we will get to know the plants and trees with which the different spices are produced and we will discover their use in cooking and in the ancient natural medicine of Ayurveda

day 7. Kandy Hanthana - Tooth Relic Temple - Udawattakele National Reserve - Kandy Hanthana
(Hanthana - Kandy : 30 min)
In the Sri Dalada Maligawa Temple we will find the relic of the Buddha's tooth.
For this reason we will always meet Buddhist pilgrims with flowers and offerings.
Since ancient times, this relic has played a very important role in the life of Sri Lanka, as it was believed that whoever possessed it wielded power.
Unawatakale Forest is a couple of hours hike where you can see, above all, towering trees and tropical vegetation that amazes everyone, locals and tourists alike.
It is also a place to stroll for Kandy locals, being in the heart of the city.
For the rest of the day, we will discover the city of Kandy with its bustling centre and its market.
day 8. Kandy: Hantana Trekking
(No displacement)
Trekking in Hantana (5 hours approximately): We will hike through the mountains surrounding the south of the city of Kandy.
We will cross the tea trails and the mountain where the famous movie "Indiana Jones" and "The Temple of Doom" was filmed in 1984.
Rest of the day at leisure for strolling in the small villages where the tea pickers live, which are very close to the accommodation.
day 9. Kandy - Peradeniya Botanical Gardens - Ramboda waterfalls - Tea Factory - Nuwara Eliya
(Kandy - Nuwara Eliya: 2 hours and a half + train)
In the morning we will walk through the the Royal Gardens.
The Botanical Garden of Peradeniya (14th century) is considered one of the best visits to mythical Ceylon.
It is a huge park that runs along the Mahawelli River where we will admire the beauty of ancient trees, palm trees with strange shapes, Ayurvedic plants and the famous orchids collection.
On the way to Nuwara Eliya we will stop to admire the Ramboda waterfalls.
We will continue the visit to a tea factory.
If you want to learn about the making of the famous Ceylon tea, be sure to visit this factory where they will explain how the delicate tea leaves are processed.
day 10.
Nuwara Eliya - Trekking: Horton Plains National Park -
Transfer by train from Nuwara Eliya to Bandarawela
(Nuwara Eliya - Horton Plains: 1 hr and 15 min)
Departure from the Hotel 5:00 in the morning
Packed lunch near the precipice of the end of the world.
Much of the morning will be devoted to Horton Plains National Park. This natural park is a vast plain covered with grasslands.
Your visit consists of a walk along a path of approximately 9 km (approximately 4 hours of walking), where you can admire the famous precipice of "the end of the world", the noisy Baker Falls and the huge Sambar deer.
Later we will travel by train from Nanu Oya station in Nuwara Eliya to Bandarawela.
It is more than 3 hours of winding journey between tea mountains and high forest.

day 11. Trekking Mountain in Haputale: 1st day trekking - refuge
(Bandarawella - Haputale : 40 min)
After breakfast we will move to Haputale to start a 2 days trek.
To get to the location we will make a small train transfer to reach one of the most beautiful and unknown mountain ranges in Sri Lanka.
The first day the trek will start at 7am and will be in the tea mountains,
basically arriving at the alpine hut at mid-afternoon.
Dinner at the family-run lodge in this little-explored place.
day 12. Trekking Mountain in Haputale: 2nd day trekking - Haputale waterfalls views - Ella
(Haputale - Ella: 50 min)
Beginning of the second trekking day with a visit to the waterfalls.
Bambarakanda Falls are the highest in Sri Lanka, with a height of 263 meters, it ranks as the 299th waterfall in the world ranked by its height.

day 13. Ella: Little Adam’s Peak - Safari at the Yala National Park - Tissa
(Ella - Tissa: 2 hours and a half)
We will go up to Little Adam's Peak.
It is a simple 30 minute walk around the tea fields, to enjoy the immensity of the mountains in this part of the island.
Yala National Park has the highest concentration of leopards in the world, as they have no predators.
In addition, you will be able to observe many elephants, crocodiles, buffaloes, black bears and many other animals.
day 14. Tissa - Lake Boat cruise in Tissa Wewa - Sithulpawwa - Kataragama Temples - Tissa
(short journeys of 30 min)
In the morning we will take a boat trip on Lake Tissa Wewa to see the birds and nature in this very special part of the country.
Then we will visit Sithulpawwa, an ancient Buddhist monastery over 2000 years old.
To get to this enclave we have to go through the Yala National Park.
Its location is very special because it is located on a hill from which you can see the entire national park.
And if you feel like it, the last visit of the day can be Kataragama which is a collection of sacred pilgrimage temples for Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims and even Veddha indigenous people.
This synchrony of different religions makes Kataragama a very special place.
day 15. Mirissa beach

day 17. Mirissa - Galle - Airport
(Mirissa - Galle: 45 min; Galle - Airport: 2 hrs)
Galle is the third most important city after Colombo and Kandy.
It was a Portuguese city in the 16th century and a Dutch city in the 18th century, the British also lived in the 19th and 20th centuries.
All these colonisers left an imprint, which is why it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Payment methods:
- Payment is 10% or 20% depending on the season (low or high), by bank transfer.
- The remaining 90% or 80% is always paid in cash or by credit card upon arrival in Sri Lanka or by bank transfer.
Cancellation policy:
Up to 30 days before the start of the trip, 100% of the deposit is refunded if a trip cancellation occurs,
withholding the amount of $100 per person for agency fees.Between 29 days and 15 days before the start of the trip there is a penalty of 50% of the deposit amount.
In case of cancellations in the 14 days preceding the trip, no deposit will be refunded.
Note on cancellations:
- All cancellations have an additional administrative cost of 100 USD per person.
- In case of cancellation due to COVID-19, cancellations will not suffer any penalty.
