1st day. Bandaranaike International Airport - Kurunegala - Habarana

(Approximate transfer time: 2.5 hours)

Reception at the airport by our representative and transfer of about 2 hours and 30 minutes to the accommodation in Habarana

On the way we will stop at Kurunegala Lake to stretch out with a walk and eat a snack 

2nd day. Habarana - Polonnaruwa - Habarana

(Habarana - Polonnaruwa Approximate transfer time: 1 hour)

Founded in the 10th century AD, Polonnaruwa was the second capital of Sri Lanka and remained active until the beginning of the 13th century.

3rd day. Habarana - Sigiriya Rock - Safari in Minneriya National Park - Habarana

We will claim to Sigiriya fortress

This huge magma rock hides the ruins of noble buildings and a breathtaking view on the top

We will pass through the Lions Gate and admire the state of conservation of the frescoes on the walls of the cave

In the afternoon mounted on a four wheel drive, we will participate to this amusing Safari,

famous for the large herds of elephants that inhabit it.

Sometimes you can admire up to 300 elephant specimens

4th day. Habarana - Trekking - Habarana

After breakfast we will leave for a Trekking in the areas of the town of Habarana (about 4 hours). We will cross villages surrounded by nature, a lake, rice fields and local crops in contact with the local population

5th day. Habarana - Dambulla Golden Temple - Trekking in Matale - Spice Garden - Kandy city Tour

(Dambulla - Kandy: 2 ½ hours)

In the morning we will visit the Golden Temple of Dambulla

This complex of caves converted into a temple where inside we will encounter a rich decoration of statues and frescoes on the life of Buddha, of ancient Sinhalese kings and of Hindu Sinhalese deities still revered today with flowers, incense and oil lamps ...

In the Matale Trekking we will cross a village surrounded by pepper and rice fields.

We will march through a road surrounded by unspoiled nature with cashew, pepper, cocoa, coffee and natural rubber cultures

On the way to Kandy we will visit a Spice Garden

On this visit we will get to know the plants and trees with which the different spices are produced and discover their use in cooking and in the ancient natural medicine of Ayurveda

Transfer to Kandy, the capital of the mountains

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kandy is one of the holiest places in the Buddhist world

Kandy, the last capital of the Sinhalese kings, has a lot of British influence

We will see colonial-style buildings and take advantage of a walk around the lake that surrounds the Buddha Tooth Temple, where one of the most important relics of Buddhism is kept: the left canine of Buddha

We will visit the Sri Dalada Maligawa Temple or called Temple of the Tooth, where the canine belonging to Buddha is kept

For the rest of the day, we will discover the city of Kandy with its bustling center, its market.

In the afternoon we will attend a traditional cooking demonstration with dinner included

7º giorno. Kandy - Trekking in Hantana - Kandy

(Kandy - Hantana : transfer of about 20 minutes)

Trekking in Hantana (about 5 hours): we will take a walk in the mountains that surround the south of the city of Kandy surrounded by tea fields.

In Sinhalese Hantana means seven peaks and we will rise to one.

8th day. Kandy - Real Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya - Trekking in Ramboda - Nuwara Eliya

(Kandy - Peradeniya : transfer of about 40 minutes)

The Peradeniya Botanical Garden or also called the Royal Garden has its origins in the 14th century.

This vast expanse of trees and plants is one of the best travel sites in Sri Lanka.

We will admire the ancient trees and palm trees with the strangest shapes, the Ayurvedic plants and the famous collection of orchids.

This vast area of 60 hectares is a place of relaxation and recreation for the Sinhalese where they come to stroll and spend the day with their family, boyfriends or friends.

Real Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya

On the way to Nuwara Eliya we will participate to a short trekking, about 1 hour, at the Ramboda waterfalls, with a slope of 100 meters

9th day. Nuwara Eliya - Trekking in the Horton Plain - Nuwara Eliya

(Nuwara Eliya - Horton Plain : transfer of about 2 ½ hours)

Leaving the hotel at 5 am.

Breakfast with pick-nic at the "precipice of the end of the world".

The whole day is dedicated to trekking in the Horton Plains National Park.

10th day. Nuwara Eliya - Train from the station of Nanu Oya to Ella - Trekking in Ella

(Nanu Oya - Ella : train transfer of about 3 hours)

Reached the station of Nanu Oya, a few minutes from Nuwara Eliya (8 km), we will board the train carriage in Ella.

Welcome to Sri Lanka's favourite hill country village!

Ella is a blissfully relaxing place nestled in the valley about 3500 feet high; it is surrounded by mountains covered with lush farmland and tea plantations.

11th day. Ella - 1st Trekking day : Haputale Mountain - Night in the refuge

After breakfast we will move to Haputale to start a 2 day trek.

The first day we will start at 7am and will be in the tea mountains, pine and tropical forests, arriving at the mountain retreat in the afternoon.

Total distance 14 km. difference in height 600 mt.

Dinner in the refuge.

12th day. 2nd Trekking day : Haputale Mountain - Tissa

Breakfast in the refuge.

Trekking starts at 7:30 am.

On the way we will visit the highest waterfalls in Sri Lanka (263 mt.).

Possibility to bathe in a waterfall.

Total distance 14 km. difference in height 600 mt.

Rice and curry dinner in a house next to the waterfall.

13th day. Tissa - Safari in the Yala National Park - Tissa

We will participate in the Safari in the National Park mounted on a 4x4.

This huge expanse of land is divided into five blocks, which protect the habitat that goes from the bush to the lake areas near the sea.

14th day. Yala - Galle - Bandaranaike International Airport

Galle is the third most important city after Colombo and Kandy.

It was a Portuguese city in the 16th century and a Dutch city in the 18th century, the British also lived in the 19th and 20th centuries.

All these colonizers left an imprint, which is why it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
